Perched on the hills above Saint-Émilion, Château La Croizille is a family-run estate managed by the De Schepper family since 1996. The vineyard stretches across a natural cirque, at an altitude of between 30 and 70 metres, on clay-limestone soils. In 2013, the construction of an ultra-modern gravity-fed winery further strengthened the estate’s reputation for quality, whilst remaining true to Bordeaux tradition.
Château La Croizille 2012 is a well-balanced, elegant Grand Cru that has reached perfect maturity. Composed mainly of Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine reveals the finesse of the vintage, characterised by freshness and refined tannins. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, it has matured in the cellar and now offers a supple, expressive and very pleasant palate.
A deep ruby colour with subtle brick-red highlights. The nose reveals aromas of black cherry, stewed plum, sweet spices and leather. On the palate, the attack is rounded, the tannins are well-integrated and the finish is velvety. Château La Croizille 2012 est un vin de plaisir immédiat, subtil et parfaitement équilibré.
