Château La Croizille, situated on the hillsides of Saint-Émilion, is a family-owned estate belonging to the De Schepper family. Its unique terroir, set in a natural amphitheatre, rests on clay-limestone soils that provide ideal natural drainage. Since 1996, the estate has benefited from a state-of-the-art winery that enables gravity-fed vinification, combining respect for the fruit with technical precision. The estate embodies a modern vision of Bordeaux viticulture.
Château La Croizille 2016 is a rich, complex and well-balanced Grand Cru. This vintage benefited from ideal conditions: a temperate climate, good ripeness and meticulous harvesting. The blend of predominantly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon produces a structured wine with fine tannins and lovely freshness. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, it offers excellent ageing potential, whilst being fully expressive today.
A deep garnet colour with purple highlights. The nose opens with notes of ripe black fruit (blackcurrant, plum), underscored by hints of mocha and liquorice. On the palate, the attack is clean, the tannins are velvety, and the finish is long, harmonious and mineral. Château La Croizille 2016 captivates with its balance between power and elegance.
