Owned by the De Schepper family since 1996, Château La Croizille embodies a modern approach to winemaking in Saint-Émilion. Nestled on amphitheatre-shaped clay-limestone slopes, the estate benefits from an exceptional terroir. Since 2013, an innovative gravity-fed winery has complemented traditional methods, resulting in winemaking that combines precision, respect for the fruit and a commitment to quality.
Château La Croizille 2009 is a concentrated and perfectly matured Grand Cru, reflecting an exceptional vintage in Bordeaux. The blend of Merlot (the majority) and Cabernet Sauvignon produces a dense, silky and complex wine. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, it has now reached full maturity, expressing the full potential of the terroir and the estate’s expertise.
A deep ruby colour with brick-red highlights. The nose offers a refined bouquet of stewed black fruits, leather, blond tobacco and truffle. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and velvety, with a smooth texture and lovely length. Château La Croizille 2009 is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru at the peak of its maturity: rich, complex and seductive.
