The Domaine Jean-Luc Mouillard is located in Mantry, in the Revermont region of the Jura Mountains, an emblematic area for characterful wines, this family estate was founded in 1991 by Jean-Luc Mouillard, following his viticultural training in Beaune. It has gradually grown while preserving traditional winemaking techniques. The vines are cultivated with respect for the terroir and natural balance. The estate offers a beautiful diversity of Jura wines, both dry and oxidative, all imbued with authenticity and precision.
Le Curieux 2018 is a 100% Savagnin white wine, vinified without aging under a veil of yeast – unlike classic Jura wines. This cuvée is therefore more approachable while retaining the essence of the grape variety. Aged in oak barrels but protected from oxygen, it reveals a beautiful mineral purity, roundness, and a full palate. This alternative to Vin Jaune appeals to those who wish to discover Savagnin in a different way, with finesse and balance.
Its color is a brilliant pale yellow. The nose reveals precise aromas of flint, quince, and dried fruit. On the palate, Le Curieux expresses itself with suppleness and volume, carried by a refreshing minerality and a touch of salinity. Served between 12 and 14°C, it pairs equally well with a refined aperitif, smoked fish fillets, or a root vegetable terrine.
