Palesa is a range produced by UniWines in the Breedekloof region, in the heart of the Western Cape, South Africa. Committed to Fairtrade, this estate implements sustainable practices at every level. The grapes come from carefully selected vineyards, cultivated with respect for the environment and local communities. The Fairtrade project helps improve the living conditions of workers and develop solidarity initiatives within the wine-growing villages.
This Palesa Fairtrade Chenin is made from Chenin Blanc, South Africa's flagship grape variety. The grapes are harvested at night to preserve their freshness, then vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine reveals a clear and modern expression of Chenin, balancing tension and roundness. With every sip, one perceives the quality of ethical practices combined with precise winemaking. This is an approachable, versatile, and perfectly balanced wine.
The wine is a brilliant pale yellow. The nose reveals enticing aromas of green apple, juicy pear, and lemon, accompanied by subtle hints of tropical fruit. On the palate, the Palesa Fairtrade Chenin is distinguished by its thirst-quenching freshness and lively finish.
