Aleno Joven is produced by Bodegas La Legua, a family-run estate located near Valladolid, in Castilla y León. The property covers 80 hectares in a single block, 50 of which are dedicated to vineyards. At an altitude of 750 meters, the vineyard benefits from a distinctly continental climate, ideal for the perfect ripening of Tempranillo grapes. The estate's soils are gravelly and clay-limestone, perfect for balanced and expressive red wines. Bodegas La Legua is committed to quality: hand-harvesting, low yields, and meticulous winemaking. The modern winery is attached to a traditional 17th-century building, a testament to the close link between innovation and local heritage.
Aleno Joven 2015 is a 100% Tempranillo, the king of grape varieties in the Iberian Peninsula. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with a short maceration to emphasize crisp fruit and suppleness. No barrel aging is used, resulting in a straightforward, direct, and refreshingly vibrant wine. This particularly warm and sunny 2015 vintage offers a ripe and charming expression of the grape. It embodies typical Spanish characteristics: generosity, lusciousness, and character. An ideal red wine for simple, convivial moments, without any fuss.
Brilliant cherry-red robe with garnet highlights. Expressive nose of black fruits, plum, and blackcurrant, with hints of licorice and a touch of floral notes. On the palate, Aleno Joven 2015 is supple and full-bodied, with vibrant fruit and rounded tannins. The finish is fresh and light, with excellent drinkability.
