The Estate

Château La Croizille is a spectacular estate perched on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion. Blending heritage and modernity, the estate is renowned for its gravity-flow winery with its contemporary architecture, which allows for highly precise winemaking. Acquired and restored by the De Mour group, La Croizille is now a benchmark among the Classified Growths of the Right Bank. The vineyard, a single contiguous plot, benefits from complex terroirs and ideal sun exposure. Every step, from vine to bottle, is meticulously designed to reveal the excellence of the terroir and produce powerful, elegant wines built for aging.

The wine

A sunny and perfectly controlled vintage, 2022 has given rise to an intense and generous wine. This magnum of Château La Croizille 2022, predominantly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, captivates with its aromatic richness, depth, and beautiful freshness on the finish. Aging in new oak barrels adds structure and complexity. The 1.5L format enhances the wine's evolution over time, ensuring slower and more even oxygenation. This magnum is an invitation to discover all the finesse of a Grand Cru Classé in a format ideal for cellaring or sharing.

Tasting notes

Deep robe with purplish highlights. The nose reveals intense aromas of black fruit, Morello cherry, sweet pepper, and vanilla. The palate is dense and velvety, with elegant tannins and a beautiful tension on the finish. Notes of mocha, candied fruit, and licorice emerge, all supported by a balanced structure. Decant in its youth or age until 2035 for a more complete expression. This magnum pairs perfectly with beef Wellington, milk-fed lamb, or aged cheeses.
