The Estate
Château La Croizille is a gem of the Saint-Émilion plateau, situated on exceptional clay-limestone soil. Owned by the De Mour group, the estate boasts an ultra-modern gravity-flow winery, designed to express the quintessence of each plot. Combining innovation and respect for tradition, La Croizille stands out as a model of viticultural precision. The wines produced here are profound, elegant, and possess great aging potential. Meticulous work in the vineyard and the cellar results in wines that are both contemporary and true to their terroir.
The wine
The 2018 vintage in Bordeaux is marked by optimal grape ripeness, resulting in powerful, rich, and velvety wines. This magnum of Château La Croizille 2018 perfectly embodies this style, with a Merlot-dominant blend complemented by a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is distinguished by its generosity, dense structure, and remarkable balance. The 1.5L format ensures extended aging and a more harmonious evolution, ideal for lovers of elegant, slow-maturing wines.
Tasting notes
The wine is dark, almost black. The nose opens with intense notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, cocoa, and precious wood. On the palate, the attack is ample, the tannins are fine and well-integrated, the texture dense yet elegant. The well-balanced acidity provides length and freshness. The finish lingers with aromas of roasting and ripe black fruit. This magnum will perfectly complement a grilled ribeye steak, roast lamb, or a mushroom stew.
