The Estate
Château Haut Breton Larigaudière is a family-owned estate located in the commune of Soussans, north of the Margaux appellation. This property, part of the De Mour group, benefits from deep gravelly soils typical of the Médoc. Thanks to meticulous viticulture and precise winemaking, the château produces elegant and balanced wines that faithfully reflect their origin. Aging in oak barrels adds elegance and complexity. Haut Breton Larigaudière embodies the great Margaux tradition, combining finesse, freshness, and structure.
The wine
2021 was a delicate vintage, marked by cool weather conditions that favored the production of more classic, elegant, and taut wines. This magnum of Château Haut Breton Larigaudière 2021 is a beautiful expression of this. The blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a touch of Petit Verdot, resulting in a wine that is straightforward, precise, and supple in texture. The magnum format allows for excellent long-term aging potential, preserving the freshness and purity of the fruit. This is a refined Margaux, with an approachable yet promising profile.
Tasting notes
A bright, light garnet robe. The nose opens with aromas of fresh red fruit, peony, white pepper, and delicate oak. On the palate, the attack is smooth, followed by a finely structured development. The tannins are fine, the acidity well-integrated, and the finish offers a lovely mineral tension. This magnum will perfectly complement stuffed poultry, mushroom risotto, or a soft cheese.
