Albino Rocca is an iconic family estate in Barbaresco, in the heart of Piedmont. Now run by Angelo Rocca's daughters, the estate perpetuates a precise and pure winemaking style, in both white and red wines. While best known for its Nebbiolo, the Rocca family also produces some remarkable, albeit lesser-known, white wines. La Rocca is one of these hidden gems, made from carefully selected parcels and produced in limited quantities. Each cuvée reflects artisanal expertise and a constant pursuit of elegance.
Albino Rocca La Rocca is a dry white wine made from the indigenous Cortese grape variety. It comes from vines planted in well-exposed clay-limestone soils. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, with aging on fine lees to enhance complexity and texture. This wine expresses a mineral tension, delicate fruit, and a chiseled structure. It belongs to the lineage of great Italian gastronomic whites, both pure and expressive. It will appeal to Gavi enthusiasts, as well as lovers of Chablis or Meursault.
From the first whiff, Albino Rocca La Rocca seduced by its aromas of candied lemon, white pear, and acacia blossom, this wine displays a beautiful structure on the palate, taut with vibrant acidity and a saline note. The finish is long, elegant, and slightly chalky. Thanks to its remarkable balance, this wine can be enjoyed on its own or paired with refined dishes such as scallop carpaccio or Parmesan risotto.
