Wines en primeur – delivery September 2025

What is buying en primeur?

Buying en primeur wines, typical of Bordeaux, means reserving wines from the latest vintage still in the making. One or two years later, once bottled, the bottles are delivered.

Advantages of buying en primeur :

  • Attractive price:
The price of the wine when it is released is higher than when it was sold en primeur, so you save money!
  • Increased value: The wine gains in popularity and rating, increasing its value between purchase and delivery.
  • Guaranteed availability: Buying en primeur ensures the availability of the desired wines in the desired quantities, which can be difficult later on.

The sales process :

  • Select and add wines to cart.
  • Pay the amount including VAT, excluding delivery charges.
  • On delivery, pay the shipping costs (between 19 and 30 euros for Europe).
  • Bottles are sent in cartons of at least 3 bottles.

The property

When the De Schepper family bought Château Haut Breton Larigaudière with its grounds and 2 ha of vines in 1964, they passionately set about rebuilding the estate. Today, the 15 ha vineyard lies in the communes of Arsac and Soussans.

Because the vines are scattered throughout the Margalais vineyards, they benefit from very different terroirs, enhancing the complexity of the estate’s wines. While the deep, sandy gravels of Arsac result in more airy wines, the clayey gravels of Grand Soussans generally produce wines of great structure.

The wine

The grand vin Château Haut Breton Larigaudière is the product of exceptional know-how and terroir. It stands out in Margaux thanks to its blend of over 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, exploiting the full potential of the terroir to achieve exceptional aromatic finesse. Structured yet elegant, balanced and enhanced by solid yet silky tannins, Château Haut Breton Larigaudière can compete with the appellation’s greatest without blushing.

Assembly

85% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot.

Vinification and ageing

Cold prefermentation maceration, 15 to 30 days in concrete and stainless steel vats. Separate vinification for each grape variety, depending on vine age and terroir. To encourage the emergence of aromas, the alcoholic fermentation process is carried out at relatively low temperatures (between 28° and 32° depending on the vintage).

Aged for 15 to 20 months in French oak barrels from 10 different coopers, of which 50 to 100% are new.
