Château Haut Breton Larigaudière
Vintage 2014

In the heart of the Margaux appellation in Soussans, the 2014 vintage of Château Haut Breton Larigaudière continues to uphold its tradition of producing wines of exceptional quality. Let’s now take a closer look at the 2014 vintage.

A Heterogeneous Vintage

The vines at Château Haut Breton Larigaudière thrive in a temperate climate, located between the ocean and the estuary. Our plots benefit from mild winters and moderate summers, which prevent excessive heat. The soils are mainly clay-limestone, with some areas of deep gravel and sandy gravel.

For the 2014 vintage, the climatic conditions at Château Haut Breton Larigaudière were intriguing. May was marked by cold temperatures, followed by warmth at the end of the month, leading to early development. The maturation process was initially challenging, with a humid and cool August delaying the ripening of the grapes. Fortunately, September was a saving grace, with warm temperatures and dry weather. As a result, the grapes were able to complete their maturation, achieving high quality, especially the Cabernet Sauvignons. Therefore, we have a complex year, characterized by temperature variations during the growing cycle but benefiting from favorable conditions at the end of maturation. Let’s now see what the tasting has in store for us.

TUNING AND CONSERVATION OF CHÂTEAU HAUT-BRETON LARIGAUIÈRE VINTAGE 2014

Finally, Château Haut Breton Larigaudière 2014 is a wine ready to be enjoyed. Although it can still age, it is best enjoyed this year. Indeed, its structure has reached its peak, making it excellent right now, particularly as an accompaniment to a fine piece of beef, which will marry perfectly with its aromas. As a result, although it can still evolve with a few more years of cellaring to make its tannins more supple, it is recommended not to keep it for more than 5 years. After that, the wine risks losing its intensity and qualities.
