Domaine du Monteillet

Antoine and Stéphane Montez make Fortis in Chavanay, on the northern edge of the northern Côtes-du-Rhône. This cuvée takes its name from ‘Fortis fortuna Fortior’: luck strengthens valour. This was the motto of the estate’s 17th-century owner, Marshal of France under Louis XIV.

Tasting note

This wine has an intense, deep colour. On the palate, it is full-bodied and fruity, with noble tannins that give it an elegant structure. Its aromas are complex, with notes of spices and flowers, particularly violets.
