En primeur wines – delivery September 2025

What is buying wine en primeur?

Buying wine en primeur, typical of Bordeaux, involves reserving wines from the most recent vintage that is still in the process of being made. One or two years later, once bottled, the bottles are delivered.

Advantages of buying wine en primeur:

  • Attractive Pricing: The price of the wine during the en primeur sale is often lower than when it is released, allowing you to save money.

  • Value Appreciation: As the wine gains in popularity and its rating improves, its value can increase between the purchase and delivery.

  • Guaranteed Availability: Purchasing en primeur ensures that you can secure the wines you want in the desired quantities, which might be difficult to obtain later.

The sales procedure:

  • Select and add the wines to your cart. Pay the total amount including VAT, excluding shipping fees.
  • Upon delivery, pay the transport costs (between €19 and €30 for all of Europe).
  • The bottles are shipped in cartons containing a minimum of 3 bottles.

The reflection of a terroir

In 2022, Château Tour Baladoz joined the prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé ranking. The property has been owned by the De Schepper family since 1950, and its wines are distributed through the De Mour wine merchant. To mark the château’s entry into the ranking, our wine features a brand new label. This label reflects everything that defines the estate and contributes to its excellence.
For decades, our goal at Château Tour Baladoz has been to capture the pure expression of our terroirs, producing wines that convey the full freshness and minerality of our soils. This new label remains true to the classic standards of the appellation but stands out with its copper-toned gold accents that highlight the characteristics of the landscape.

The property

Rising to 100 meters above sea level, the vineyard overlooks the southern part of the appellation. All the vines planted on the plateau rest on quarries with two levels extending more than 11 meters into the ground.

Here, one can find vine rootlets embedded in the rock, absorbing moisture from the air. While 70% of our vineyard is located on the plateau, the remaining 30% follows the steep slopes of our valley, where there is a great wealth and diversity of terroirs. The exceptional location of Château Tour Baladoz provides visitors with a panoramic view of the Saint-Émilion landscape.

The wine

The property’s long history, the quality of the terroir, and the mastery of the entire process—from cultivation to bottling—ensure the great nobility and renown of Château Tour Baladoz’s grand wine. Emphasizing the pure expression of the terroir, the freshness and minerality are constants in Château Tour Baladoz wine.

Winemaking and aging

Cold pre-fermentation maceration, 15 to 30 days in tanks, concrete and stainless steel of varying capacities, to refine parcel-specific vinifications. Each operation is tailored to the vintage and the raw material. Each tank is analyzed independently. The tasting of the juices, following grape tasting and health assessments in the vineyard, determines the applied process.

Aging for 15 to 20 months in French oak barrels from 10 different cooperages, with 70% of the barrels being new.
