In the early 1980s, Babich Wines was the first New Zealand winery to win a gold medal for pinot noir, and that legacy of excellence lives on in this Babich Syrah 2018. This soft and luxurious 2018 Babich Syrah is sourced from our 100% certified sustainable vineyards in the main Marlborough sub-regions, with delicate flavors of spice, plum, cherry and earth.

Tasting note

Sweet fruit – aromas of black plum, raspberry and blueberry mingle with savory earthy and spicy notes. The sweet attack of black and red fruits, namely plum and cherry, is accompanied by notes of cedar, cinnamon and a hint of blood that add excitement to the mid-palate. Good volume and medium body with fine tannins supporting a suggestion of cocoa on the finish.
